My deepest sympathy to Goran’s family Goran and my late husband, David, were business colleagues during the 1970’s. Our families became friends and we have stayed in touch over many years. Goran will be remembered for his good humor and philosophical stories and for introducing us to Sweden (both in summer and winter), celebrating a magical midsummer on his sailboat, and, of course, enjoying Swedish beer and mulled wine.

Goran was one of my father's best friends. Their relationship transcended their work together, to include fun times together with their wives. But perhaps the greatest legacy of their relationship is the friendship I now share with Jessica. We met as children and are reconnected at 60, across continents and with full lives lived between us. I remember Goran as the one always with a spark of mischief in his eye. He strode out to create futures, challenging status quo and what was usually done. He loved the sea, he loved to have a party, he really loved both at the same time and included my parents in those adventures. Last year I was deeply, deeply honored to listen to his stories of work, love and life. Goran, you live on through these stories. I hope you, David, Jack and Carsten are meeting in heaven. And Jessica and Lotta: all of the Johnson hearts are with you, now and always.

So very sorry to read of the the passing of Goran. I first met him in the early 1970s when both he and my Father, Jack Harvey, were working for Temprite International. Goran and Solve invited me to spend midsummer 1976 with them in Nynäshamn. It was a special holiday for me. I was a single man in my mid-20s, so travelling, going places and meeting people was a lot of fun. Goran and Solve took me various places including Stockholm and several days sailing in their boat around the Islands off Nynäshamn. We went fishing and quite by accident caught a large pike in the nets. (See picture). We also had a midsummer party in their garden that went on for most of the night. We were joined by Carsten and Barbara Philip and their sons too. Even after all these years it I remember the time clearly and with much affection. I recall Goran had character and a way that put everyone around him at ease. I lost touch with Goran for many years. Fortunately Katherine Armstrong reconnected me to Goran last year and we we shared a long conversation on FaceTime. It was good to talk and see the pleasure it gave him to meet up with me after so long. May his memory be a blessing to you all.

Göran, du var alltid glad, snäll och omtänksam. Tack för att du var en så härlig person. Jag kommer alltid minnas dig, min käre farbror.
